Use this guide to prepare a material brief. The separate HPL-versus-compact comparison explains naming differences; here the focus is the information needed to select and approve the project panel.
Describe the service conditions
Record the facility, anticipated moisture exposure, cleaning method, traffic and maintenance priorities. Identify appearance, privacy and any specified performance requirements. A facility label such as hospital or school is not itself evidence that a panel meets a particular standard.
Define each proposed construction
For each option, request the surface and core build-up, thickness and edge detail. Keep HPL-facing and compact laminate constructions identifiable rather than assigning a shared thickness without support. Hardware, finished dimensions and support positions depend on the actual selected panel.
Separate stock sheets from components
A raw board size is not a finished cubicle size. Plans and schedules should identify doors, dividers and front supports, their dimensions and relevant clearances. Confirm available sheet sizes and machining limits for the proposed material instead of relying on unverified catalogue numbers.
Collect the approval information
Use physical finish samples, identifiable product information, controlled drawings and a compatible hardware schedule. If a test or certification is required, list it explicitly and obtain evidence for the offered configuration. Record open decisions and resolve them before production approval. Share the available brief even when some selections are still provisional.
